Summer Movie Review!!

I hope this turns out to be a short blog, but i don't promise anything.

SUMMER MOVIES TO COME

Every year good movies come out in the summer, but this year seems to have the most anticipated flicks. Here are some of the movies that I can think of from May-August that I may like.

May
Battleship:

First thing that I have to say is, Rihanna! I hope to see Rihanna pull off the bad chick and hero in this epic movie. This movie was based on the board game Battleship. The movie is an action film about evil aliens taking over the world. Last year there were a lot of movies about aliens that were a complete failure. I really hope this is an exception in this film because: First of all there's a singer in it, Secondly because its based on a board game. Its being distributed by Universal Pictures and was directed by Peter Berg. This movie is rated PG-13 and will hit theaters May 18, 2012. I'm not really into movies of action, I'm more of a comedy guy.

Dark Shadows:
Another Vampire that is unlike any other. Nothing  can go wrong when you pair it with Johnny Depp & Tim Burton. This motion picture was an iconic soap opera saga. Johnny Depp steps into the shoes of the vampire Barnabas Collins. Barnabas gets transformed into a vampire by an evil witch and buried alive and comes back for revenge. Director Tim Burton puts his touch of dark and comedy into this film. Its being distributed by Warner Bros. This movie is not yet Rated and will hit theaters May 11,2012.

The Avengers:
Avengers ASSEMBLE! I cant wait to hear Nick Furry say this in the big screen. We follow our heroes on their epic journey and their origin. Now it all comes to this, the rise of the Avengers. Our heroes Assemble to fight Loki and his vicious army. This may be the ground breaking movie we have been waiting for. Avengers has a great cast and a extraordinary director Joss Whedon. This film is yet not Rated. Movie is set for release in May 4, 2012 and it is being distributed by Marvel Studios, Disney and Paramount Pictures.

Chucky: The Killer Doll

     "Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna Play?"
-Chucky, Child's Play (1988)

I hope many of you have already seen or at least heard about Chucky, The killer doll.
Child's Play first opened in theaters November 9, 1988
The franchise seems like its going to continue with Revenge of Chucky (Tittle not 100% sure). This new installment to the Chucky franchise is supposed to be a reboot but with a killer twist. Its not going to be so much as comic driven movie like the resent movies. He wants to make it more Straight-up horror movie. It is said that its going to continue from the last one but as a reboot. We are going to see Chucky and his family again. Right now the Director of Seed of Chucky, Don Mancini, is said to be the director of the new installment.

"That's really our goal with this next movie, bottom-line, was to make it scary again. After having, I think, rather successfully mined the horror-comedy aspects of this concept over the course of Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky, the fans are really telling us that they want it to be scary again. Doing the remake just provides us with a really good opportunity to bring it home, so to speak." -Don Mancini

The movie is rumored to come out October 20, 2015 (Have in mind that its not yet set).

I for one was terrified of the doll when I was a little boy. I would change the channel every time it was aired on TV. But i grew up and came to love and started asking my self, "How the hell are these people getting killed by a 2 feet doll?". Instead of fearing the doll I started to find it cute, and even more when they gave him a bride, Tiffany.

So are you guys excited for this new movie? Or do you think its going to be a failure? I for one cant wait to see it, and see what kind of trouble Chucky makes. Our Parent's Generation played with him, now its our time to have the fun.

The Hunger Games

"Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor."
-Effie Trinket, The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins

Who watched The Hunger Games opening weekend? I did! That movie my friends was everything that I had hoped for. Except for a minimal lack of accuracy with the book. In the book we are shown with the tributes being savage when killing. The movie was rated PG-13 so that obviously made the gory scenes limited to a minimum.

Jennifer Lawrence, who played the character of Katniss Evergreen, was the perfect fit to this role. She has this emotionless face expression, that fits perfectly with the character.   What I had pictured about Katniss was well portrayed in the movie and the actress, Jennifer, was able to even amplified that attitude farther.

For a movie made from kids killing each other, it was pretty good. People where expecting that it was going to be very gory like the book, so some parents were concerned about letting their kids see it. I for one wasn't bothered, I just wanted to see the film. Others came to me and asked me if it was a chick flick. Well I for one haven't seen a chick flick that involves killings of kids. This movie is worth paying for. This movie has become #1 in the box office, it has made over $155 million opening weekend. Surpassing Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1. I rate this movie 5 Stars out of 5, and its a must see movie. There has been confirmation that there's  going to be a second part of the #1 book trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

All of you who did see the movie, did you guys like it? leave a comment below with thoughts. Till next time.

Mission Statement

Well hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I've created this blog to let all of you movie watchers know what I thought of the most recent, and old, movies.

Movies are my passion. Watching movies is the most popular activity to do with family and friends, but its hard to decide on the movie to see. Well that's where my blog comes in handy.

Family movie night is also a hassle. Brother and Sister debating on the scary movie, while mom wants the romantic movie. I can be an assistant because I relate to my followers.                                                          I hope this blog helps you decide which movie to see, but BE AWARE I may include some SPOILERS from upcoming box office flicks.
